Up here in the North East, it's been getting wicked cold lately. Being a native Vermonter, I have had much practice staying warm, or trying to. Guard duty or any other revolutionary duties are made much harder by the cold/snow/freezing rain. Here are my tips for keeping warm.
• Most of your body heat is lost through your head and your feet. If you don't have a pair already, get a pair of insulated water-proof (or waterproof them yourself) boots, preferably steel-toed. A pair of thick socks wouldn't hurt either. If your feet/boots get wet, then you are fucked, frostbite, etc. ensues. Likewise, get a nice warm hat. Lately I have been wearing a ski-mask with a hood over it, and then my insulated camo hat over that.
• Keep moving, keep the blood flowing.
• Don't think about the cold!
• Drink Coffee/Tea/Mate/Chai/Cocoa
• Don't Smoke, it constricts the blood flow in you hands and makes them real cold real quick.
• Dress like an onion, which means lots of layers. Long-underwear can work wonders.
• Get used to it. I was born in the dead of winter and lived all my life in the Northeast, and I still have trouble, but I'm working on it.
• Have a full stomach cause you gotta burn calories from some wear.

Don't drink chai. It's for ponces and hippies, which amounts to the same thing. ;)
A) I will not tolerate homophobia on this blog.
B) ditto with hippy bashing
C) Your country colonized Hindustan, you should now that South Asians also enjoy a nice hot cup of chai.
