Television with which to Train for the Revolution

While the vast majority of television shows and other products of the culture industry are counter-revolutionary and serve only to brainwash people into complacency, there are show which are worth watching and can teach you worthwhile things. Some even teach you about topics which come in very handy during the revolution. Coincidentally all three of these shows are on the Discovery Channel, although Future Weapons is shown more often on the Military Channel. There are lots of other shows, past and present that could also be included on this list such as Survival School(full episodes) and the Navy SEALs Training show that I posted about(full episode) way back when I first started this blog.

Man vs. Wild

Man vs Wild follows ex-SAS member Bear Grylls as he is dropped in the wilderness of various areas and climates of the world and demonstrates how to survive and be rescued if in similar situations. When I started watching this show I was terribly impressed by the skills of Grylls, but after looking into the production of the show, I discovered that much of it is staged and he often gives out inaccurate and sometimes dangerous survival advice. I still believe that you can learn valuable skills and be entertained by the show, but take it with a grain of salt. Update: Bear recently broke his shoulder hiking in Antarctica on a non-show related expedition. The Revolution Script wishes him a speedy recovery

Survivorman

If you are looking for something a little more authentic and trustworthy in terms of the safety and general usefulness of information, you should check out Les Stroud's Survivorman. Basically he is stranded out in wilderness, again of different locations and climates, but he is alone. He sets up camp for a week and films himself as he builds shelters, finds food, etc., all things that any potential special forces soldier or guerrilla should be prepared to do. Much less info-taining than Man vs Wild and more rich with actual usable knowledge.

Also check out his special on building houses off the grid. The entire show is embedded below.

Future Weapons

Hosted by ex-Navy SEAL and gun for hire Richard Machowicz, Future Weapons looks at what's next in military technology. Although much of the show profiles vehicles and warheads that would never be obtainable or usable by the guerrilla, it does feature a good number of small arms that would be, either by clandestine means or by gleaning the bodies of your fallen enemies. Even the profiles of helicopters, artillery, etc. are useful to the guerrilla as s/he becomes more knowledgeable about the capabilities of modern militaries, i.e. their enemy. Machowicz acts basically as a mouth piece for the DOD, unquestionably accepting the official line and repeating it as fact. For example, a recent show profiled the Future Combat Systems program and never mentioned that it is MASSIVELY overbudget and under-performing. In other words it is costly many times as much for many fewer results as initially promised. But keeps talking about it as if it is actually going to do what it was reported to do. But I digress.

Below is a clip of Machowicz demonstrating one of Saheim's favorite caliber, .50 Beowulf.
