Tip of the Day: Befriend A Soldier Again
I recently acquired this CamelBack Mil Spec backpack from a Navy commissary by means of a soldier friend of a friend. Military commissaries are a great way to get cheap knives, fatigues, patrol packs, camping supplies, food, etc. This backpack was forty dollars less than the MSRP and tax-free. I am looking into getting me some of 'dem new-fangled woodland MARPAT ACUs, not available to civilians. I plan on using the pack below as a bug-out bag. The flap with the black bag and machete would be perfect for carrying a second long arm, such as a shotgun. It also has an eleven liter water bladder, which could be rationed for days. Just another way making friends with soldiers/ex-soldiers can be beneficial to the aspiring clandestine individual; they have the connections on sweet gear.

Thanks for the link, I was hoping to get authent-i-que MARPAT at a discount price, not imitation MARPAT at retail.
How exactly would one go about befriending soldiers? (without becoming one themself or just lurking around recruitment stations of course.)
Friend of friends. I have found soldier, as long as politics aren't mentioned to be good people. Here are some tips:•Don't talk about politics. •Use you knowledge of military matters to make small talk.
Soldiers and ex-soldiers are everywhere, buy them a drink and see what happens.
Thanks
