Before I begin, I should make it clear that I am in no way associated with ALF or ELF and do not support, endorse, condone, or recommend anybody else to engage in any illegal acts, including acts of terrorism.
Earth and Animal liberation movements have risen to be considered some of the most dangerous domestic terrorist groups in the United States, with one animal liberator being listed on the FBI's Most Wanted Terrorist list. Property destruction and intimidation are the most common tactics of these groups, the nature of the former ranging from vandalism to bombings in the extreme case of the aforementioned fugitive. What if Earth liberationists took a more creative, less "violent" form of direct action that would probably be better received by the public?
I work in the soil and after countless hours of weeding plants species that cannot be killed, some of which we are millions of years old I had an idea. What if you could harness the power of these evolutionarily superior plants (ESPs) for your own purposes? These weeds spread through hearty root systems which, if severed from the plant and left in the soil will grow a new plant. So if somebody was to say harvest the roots of some Aegopodium(non-veregated) plants, chop them up and spread them in soil somewhere, the plant would completely take over the ecosystem, choking out other plants and making a headache for anybody trying to remove it by hand or with chemicals. Potential sites of infestation would be corporate plantings, evil biotech companies or the houses of bourgeois social parasites. The legality of such an act is debatable so, again I cannot recommend that anybody does this, but just some food for thought. The revolutionary left needs to rethink and retool their tactics. Some plants that would be exceptionally well suited for this include Horsetail, Dandelion, Petasites, and Japanese. But there are any number of other plants that one could use, depending on what area you live in.

Range Report: First Time Shooters and, as Always More "Dumpstered" Ammo
I am enjoying exercising my second amendment rights since my return to Vermont. Saheim and I took our respective assault rifles out to the range and shot some silhouettes at 100 yards and a tire and rim at 50 yards. Predictably Saheim's AR-15 was hitting milk jugs at a 100 no problem where my Romanian AK clone was making 12" groups at the same distance, shooting free hand. On the other hand, my WASR easily penetrated the steel tire rim while Saheim's .223 rounds bounced right off. 5.56mm would have probably fared better, especially M855.
After that I met three of my comrades from out of town at the same range for a late afternoon shooting lesson. Two of them had never fired guns before and the other was a proud owner of an Armalite AR-15. One of them had actually never seen a gun before and when I was unloading the trunk and handed him the gun he remarked "So that's a gun." I brought down Saheim's Savage side by side double barrel 12 ga. and my WASR. I showed them how to field strip the AK and how it operates, answering any questions they had. We all shot at some targets at 30 yards and the same tire rim at 50. Everybody had a great time and got to experience the joy of a Kalashnikov-type rifle. I think that training comrades and political sympathizers in weapons proficiency is very important. In addition to a great way to connect with your comrades and bond in a recreational environment, the more citizen who have training and can take up arms against a hostile force, foreign and domestic, the better. While I was shooting I picked up around 20 rounds of .22lr and one round of .32 auto, all unfired. As regular readers know, I love to pick up ammo at ranges and other places. Below is my collection, so far.

Top to bottom, left to right: small handful of misfired and misfed .22lr; nine rounds of misfired .22 WMR, all Wal-Mart Winchester Super-X; one 20ga; one 12ga, one NATO (Lake City?) 7.62x51/.308; one 356 Winchester; two .223; two NATO 5.56mm; one caliber unknown, possibly .30 caliber; two .40 S&W, including a brand new shiny Winchester silver-tip hollow points; one .32 H&R Magnum; one .32 auto; one .25 auto; large handful of .22lr; three .22 WMR. Not too bad for digging in the sand huh?
